Cheetah Cubs Born in the Arabian Wildlife Park!
Something very, very exciting has happened!
After spotting mating behaviour amongst our cheetah last October in the Arabian Wildlife Park, we have been excitedly waiting to see if the female cheetah was pregnant!
And then a couple of months ago, during routine tracking operations I noticed she was spending a lot of time alone in the salt dome hilltops of Sir Bani Yas Island.
After watching her for a few days, I saw she kept going back to the same cave every day after her hunting expedition. So one day, once she had left, I climbed down to the cave and looked into the entrance. Inside, I spotted four cute cheetah cubs! Above you will find the image I took that afternoon – Enjoy.
We are so excited our female cheetah has given birth! The cheetah is classified by the International Union for Conservation of Nature as extinct in the UAE, and vulnerable worldwide, so the births not only signals the success of the cheetah breeding program here on Sir Bani Yas Island, but will also help to boost numbers worldwide.
Our cheetahs are free roaming in the park, which means our female will raise them alone without any human assistance. Mother of the year!!
I will keep you updated with lots of pictures and news as they grow. Aimee – Conservation team

WELL DONE!
Congratulations to everyone on Sir Bani Yas Island. This is really great news for the cheetahs. I hope to experience them soon.

Congratulations team on your new arrivals! They are simply adorable.
As a professional wildlife artist of some 34 yrs it always warms my heart to see and hear of programmes such as this . To my way of thinking the UAE is a leader in wildlife conservation. It is said . “To see the beauty and freedom in a wild animal is to see the beauty and freedom in the self” This certainly applies in the case of the rulers of the UAE . inshallah it will continue and they can be the teachers of other leaders around the planet
Brilliant video. Keep them coming. Congratulations to all involved and please give my best regards to mom Cheetah and cubs. AKA

Glad to know that 4 cheetah cubs were born on S’ir Bani Yas Island. I’ve heard that wild animals usually procreate only when they feel comfortable – so the team on the island must be congratulated for the fabulous job they’re doing. Good luck for the future too.
Congratulations team! GREAT JOB, KEEP IT UP!
